Allowing the receiving of a foot pass to be tested — 29.03.2012
The rule shall preferably be tested in a high level league throughout the complete upcoming season (2012/2013) but the experiences shall need to be reported before 15th February 2013. The proposal (below) was sent in by the Finnish Floorball Federation that also is ready to be a test Association. Receiving a foot pass from your own team member should be allowed. Argumentation: This would prevent unnecessary stops of play in situations where a team member has intentionally or unintentionally kicked the ball and his team mate cannot touch it. Therefore the change would enhance the fluency of the game. There would be less unclear situations within the game, which would benefit all: players, referees and spectators. Changing the rule would enhance also the entertainment of the game and it would make the game for spectators easier to follow. For the player changing the rule would give more possibilities to express the skills and understanding of the game. Note: A player still cannot score with foot or kick the ball multiple times in a row. Further procedure, ending with a new edition of the Rules of the Game from 1st of July 2014, is found on the IFF webpage under Rules & Regulations. |
