Czech Republic and Sweden victorious in WUFC 2012 — 24.05.2012

The 2nd day of the 5th World University Championships for Men and Women did not reach the level of the 1st day as the results were very clear.

In the Women´s tournament Sweden defeated Finland 7-2 and Czech Republic won against Switzerland with astonishing 10-3.

Although Finland took an early lead versus Sweden scoring after 3:29 it was no doubt where this match was heading. Team Sweden made a very strong 1st period and turned to a 4-1 lead.

After an even 2nd period which ended 1-1, the Swedes closed the match in the 3rd period scoring another two goals to a 7-2 victory.

In the second women’s match Czech Republic showed no hospitality when taking on Switzerland.
After a successful 1st period where the Czechs scored 4 goals and kept their own net empty the match was more or less settled.

Scoring another 4 goals in the 2nd period and letting just one goal in definitely decided the match in Czech favor.

The third period with a lot of give and take Floorball ended 2-2 and the match 10-3 to Czech Republic.

Uneven results in Men´s WUFC

In the Men´s tournament the 2nd day offered uneven results although good tendencies were shown from both Team Belgium losing 1-13 to Switzerland and Slovakia that lost to Finland 1-12. In both these matches the result was 1-1 early in the 1st period.

Team Sweden had a good day in the office defeating Austria 23-0.
Even though the figures were high and the team put under constant pressure the Austrians tried to play constructively through the complete match.

Czech Republic took on Team Japan team in the last match of the day and gave the unexperienced Japanese team a good floorball lesson defeating them with 29-1.
